A Mumbai court has ordered the mental examination of Chetansinh Chaudhary, a former RPF constable accused of shooting dead his senior colleague and three passengers on a train in July 2023. The court's decision comes after prison authorities reported that Chaudhary is suffering from a mental disorder. He will be lodged in Thane jail during his medical examination at the Thane mental hospital.
Chaudhary not only killed his senior but also three others of a 'particular community' by making them specific targets, the court said.
The personnel accompanying Chaudhary have said his behaviour is "very unusual and he is in deep shock" and that he just eats "occasionally", the lawyer claimed.
Her statement also mentioned that the accused had a "blood clot" in the brain and was taking medicines for the same.
